From mouth to Hand, 2008 - 2018.
Bola de chicle (acetato de polivinilo), medidas por determinar.
Se trata de una bola maciza de goma de mascar, realizada, progresivamente, con los chicles que el autor fue masticando en su estudio, desde el año 2008 hasta el 2018.
El título es una intervención sobre un título de Bruce Nauman, “Fon Hand to Mouth (1967)¹”
¹(From Hand to Mouth, 1967), un vaciado en cera verde de los labios, el cuello y el brazo de una figura que reproduce, con una obsesiva e incluso morbosa exactitud, el tránsito entre el miembro y la parte anatómica mentada. Siendo un producto exquisitamente detallado de “ver a lo tonto”, esta obra ilustra la frase coloquial de “vivir al día” pero, más importante con respecto a la obra y a los intereses posteriores de Nauman, vincula de manera muy concreta la pronunciación al gesto, el acto de hablar a la actividad manual, la palabra al objeto que es el cuerpo y al objeto que el cuerpo construye.

Chewing gum ball (polyvinyl acetate), measures to be determined.
It is a solid ball of chewing gum, made with the gum that the author has been chewing in his studio from 2008 to 2018.
The title is an intervention on a title by Bruce Nauman, “From Hand to Mouth (1967)¹”
¹(From Hand to Mouth, 1967), a green wax cast of the lips, neck and arm of a figure that reproduces, with an obsessive and even morbid accuracy, the transition between the limb and the anatomical part mentioned. Being an exquisitely detailed product of «seeing awkwardly”, this work illustrates the colloquial phrase of «living up to date» but, more importantly with regard to Nauman’s work and later interests, – it links in a very concrete way the pronunciation to the gesture, the act of speaking to manual activity, the word to the object that is the body and to the object that the body builds.
